Olympic athlete Lynn Williams accidentally damaged her gold medal while celebrating in Paris.
Lynn joked that she’s not taking responsibility for the damage, pointing out that the medals should have been made more sturdy. She mentioned that the medals contain a piece of the Eiffel Tower and emphasized that she can’t be blamed for their quality.
The athlete indicated that she has contacted the International Olympic Committee to request replacement hardware, but expressed uncertainty about whether it will be fixed. She commented, “If not, I think it’s a cool, funny story.”
