Olivia Munn Opens Up About Hysterectomy During Cancer Fight
Olivia Munn shared with Vogue that undergoing a full hysterectomy was a difficult decision, but ultimately the best one for her, as she felt the need to prioritize being present for her family.
Although Munn will not be able to conceive naturally, she and her partner John plan to expand their family through surrogacy. Munn revealed that she froze her eggs multiple times starting at age 33, with the most recent round occurring last year after she was diagnosed with breast cancer, resulting in the creation of “two healthy embryos” through IVF.
Regarding the prospect of using a surrogate, Munn expressed acceptance, stating, “A surrogate isn’t a scary prospect to me anymore because there’s nothing I can do. I don’t have the ability to carry a baby anymore, so if we want to build our family, this is our option.”
Reflecting on her journey, Munn shared her gratitude for having options not just in fighting cancer but also in expanding her family, acknowledging the privilege of having such choices when many others do not.
Following Munn’s interview, John took to his Instagram Stories to honor his partner, describing her as an incredible mother to their son and highlighting the loving and humorous dynamic they share. He concluded by wishing Liv a happy Mother’s Day.
