Speculation grows as Liam and Noel Gallagher tease potential Oasis reunion on social media
An Oasis reunion appears to be on the horizon! Brothers and founders of the band, Noel and Liam Gallagher, hinted at a possible reunion by posting a cryptic clip on their X (formerly known as Twitter) handles. The clip showcased the date, August 27, 2024, and time, 8 a.m.
The official Oasis website also displayed “27.08.24” on its main page.
Reports in the UK press suggested that Oasis may be performing in the U.K. in 2025, with a 10-night run at London’s Wembley Stadium. Liam added fuel to the speculation through social media posts, expressing optimism about the reunion. “I never did like the word FORMER,” said Liam on X Sunday morning.
When a user criticized the possible venue for the reunion at Heaton Park in Manchester, Liam replied, “See you down the front, you big fanny.”
Oasis disbanded in 2009 after their last gig at the V Festival. Formed in 1991, the band quickly rose to fame in the late 1990s. Their debut album, Definitely Maybe, was a massive success, and their following album, (What’s the Story) Morning Glory?, solidified their reputation as U.K.’s top rock stars.
With 21 million listeners on Spotify, Oasis continues to be popular even after thirty years.
The brothers’ tumultuous relationship led to Noel quitting the band after a physical altercation in Paris. Since then, they have not performed together. Liam recently completed a successful tour playing Definitely Maybe, receiving a warm reception from fans.
Liam has been vocal about reuniting with his brother on stage, and Noel seems to have warmed up to the idea, possibly influenced by his divorce last year. In April, Oasis received their first Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nomination, sparking hopes of a reunion. However, Liam dismissed the idea by criticizing the museum and organization.
News sources revealed that a slot for Oasis has been left open at Glastonbury next summer, hinting at a potential reunion.
