O.J. Simpson passes away at the age of 76 following a battle with cancer
Throughout the trial and beyond, Simpson maintained his innocence. In 2007, he sparked controversy again with his book, If I Did It, which presented a hypothetical account of the murders. Although the book’s release was initially canceled, thousands of copies were eventually printed.
Later that year, a Florida court granted the Goldman family rights to the book as part of a judgment in a civil trial related to the murders. The title was changed to If I Did It: Confessions of the Killer.
In 2007, Simpson faced legal trouble again in connection to a robbery-kidnapping over his memorabilia. After serving nine years for the incident, he was released in October 2017.
Five years before his passing, Simpson provided an update on his life, emphasizing his focus on moving forward and leaving the past behind. He spoke about his family’s commitment to positivity and moving on from negative experiences.
Following his release from prison, Simpson chose to remain in Las Vegas, mentioning his satisfaction with the community’s support and apologies for what had transpired.
Simpson is survived by four children: Arnelle and Jason from his first marriage to Marguerite Whitley, and Sydney and Justin from his marriage to Nicole. He also had a daughter, Aaren, who tragically passed away from accidental drowning at age 2 in 1977.
