Actress Triptii Dimri Reveals Vicky Kaushal as her ‘3 AM Friend’ and Shares a Close Bond with Bad Newz Co-Star
Triptii Dimri, known for her debut in Bollywood with Poster Boys in 2017, has been gaining recognition after the success of Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s 2023 film, Animal. She also appeared in Karan Johar’s production Bad Newz earlier this year. While working with both Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal, she considers Vicky to be her ‘3 AM friend’. Triptii recently shared that she feels closer to Vicky than Ranbir.
At the India Today Conclave 2024, Triptii Dimri was asked to choose her ‘3 AM’ friend between Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal. She mentioned Vicky, calling him a friend.
“I am much closer to him. We spent a good amount of time together while shooting in Mussoorie. He is a very chill and cool guy,” she mentioned at the event. Triptii confessed to having a friendly bond with Vicky, and revealed that he refers to her as “his brother”.
In an interview with Indian Express, Bad Newz director Anand Tiwari compared Triptii Dimri to “Vicky Kaushal in making”, acknowledging her grounded background.
Triptii Dimri had a supporting role in Animal alongside Ranbir Kapoor and played a lead role opposite Vicky Kaushal and Ammy Virk in Bad Newz. Her chemistry with both Ranbir and Vicky in the songs of their respective films, Pehle Bhi Main and Jaanam, caught the audience’s attention.
Triptii starred in Sajid Ali’s Laila Majnu in 2018, which was recently re-released in theaters. She also appeared in Anushka Sharma’s production Bulbbul in 2020, reuniting with her Laila Majnu co-star Avinash Tiwary. In 2022, Triptii played a lead role in Anvita Dutt’s directorial, Qala, alongside Babil Khan and Swastika Mukherjee.
Currently, Triptii Dimri is set to appear in Raj Shaandilyaa’s Vicky Aur Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, co-starring Rajkummar Rao. She will also be seen in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, starring Kartik Aaryan, as well as in Aashiqui 3 and Dhadak 2, both produced by Anurag Basu and Dharma Productions, respectively.
