Netflix not co-operating with Bade Miyan Chote Miyan producers Vashu and Jackky Bhagnani regarding legal tussle, claims EOW

EOW claims Vashu and Jackky Bhagnani facing issues with Netflix over legal dispute regarding Bade Miyan Chote Miyan

Vashu and Jackky Bhagnani of Pooja Entertainment filed a lawsuit against Netflix for unpaid dues, but the OTT giant denied the allegations, claiming that Pooja Entertainment actually owes them money. In a recent update, the Economic Offenses Wing revealed that Netflix is not cooperating with the ongoing investigation.

In an official statement, Ravindra Avhad, the EOW investigating officer, stated, “Netflix owes producer Vashu Bhagnani Rs. 47 crores. Despite issuing summons, Netflix has not been cooperative, and key personnel have not appeared. Only former employees have come forward. This lack of cooperation is solely from Netflix’s side, despite the Bhagnanis being willing to engage.”

It was disclosed that the complaint was first filed in April. The EOW collected relevant documents and called Netflix for a statement, but Netflix requested additional time and a questionnaire, both of which were provided. However, there was no significant cooperation from Netflix’s side.

The investigating officer mentioned that Netflix sent representatives without decision-making authority and important figures like Monica Shergill failed to appear. Avhad clarified, “Netflix owes Pooja Entertainment 47 crores, not the other way around. Netflix’s statement is false, and their lack of cooperation continues to be an issue.”

Vashu Bhagnani claimed that Netflix filed a complaint against Los Gatos Production Services India, Zoo Digital India, and executives of both companies. The complaint alleged conspiracy against the rights of three films. In response, Netflix denied all claims and asserted that Pooja Entertainment owes them money.

“We have a strong partnership with the Indian creative community and are working with authorities to resolve this dispute,” Netflix stated.
