Chris Evans and his wife Alba Baptista are planning to expand their family and are in need of some downtime
Chris Evans and his wife, Alba Baptista, are contemplating adding another pet dog to their family. They are torn between getting a puppy or adopting an older dog to accompany Dodger, their current pet. The couple is moved by stories of older dogs finding new homes after enduring difficult lives.
In a recent interview with People magazine, the former Captain America star mentioned, “We both need a little bit of downtime for that. We’ve always said, ‘Well, maybe we’ll just go down to the shelter,’ and I’m like, ‘Listen, do you really think we’re going to walk down there and not leave with at least one dog?’ There’s no way. So if we make the decision to actually walk in the door, we’re walking out with one.”
Despite considering it, they have not taken any action yet. Evans explained that they would require some time off before committing to adding another animal to their household. He noted that if they visit a shelter, they are likely to return with another dog.
On a different note, Chris Evans is actively supporting canines through various initiatives. Since 2022, he has been collaborating with Jinx, a premium dog food brand that prioritizes good nutrition for dogs. The company has pledged to donate five per cent of every purchase at Walmart towards the United Service Organization (USO) supporting active military personnel and the USO Canine Program starting from August 1st.
Evans strongly believes that access to good nutrition for pets should be universal, not limited to those who can afford it. His involvement with Jinx has been largely influenced by Dodger’s love for their products.
The Knives Out star shared, “At the end of the day, Dodger is the real temperature check for me. He loves it, and that’s all I needed to be a part of this.” Evans fondly recalls Dodger’s entertaining antics at ten years old, which continue to bring joy to his life.
While Dodger enjoys the company of other dogs, Evans is unsure if he would be comfortable sharing their home, particularly at night. He expressed, “I wish I knew if it’s what he wanted. I wish I could just ask him because he loves being around dogs. But when it’s bedtime, if there’s another dog coming in the room, he might be like, ‘Hold on.’ So I don’t know.”
Reprising his role as Johnny Storm in Marvel’s Deadpool & Wolverine after 17 years was a significant moment for Chris Evans. According to The Hollywood Reporter, he described it as an unforgettable experience and expressed gratitude via Instagram story to the cast and director of the movie. Evans lauded Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, and Shawn Levy as some of the nicest people he has encountered. He thanked Ryan Reynolds for making his return possible, stating that playing Johnny Storm again was a dream come true and the character holds a special place in his heart.
