Sydney Sweeney alleges that her safety was jeopardized by paparazzi who stalked her and pressured her to pose in a bikini before she could leave her home.
Sydney Sweeney has shared how the paparazzi have been encroaching into her privacy more and more. During a family visit to her new home in Florida, photographers came to her house and demanded that Sweeney come out in a bikini while yelling at her family.
In an interview with Glamour, the actress from Anyone But You discussed the disturbing incident where the paparazzi tried to persuade her to wear a bikini in exchange for leaving her family alone. Sweeney expressed frustration that there were rumors she had called the paparazzi herself.
Sweeney revealed, “They said, ‘If you tell her to just come outside in a bikini, I’ll take pictures and then I’ll leave you alone.'” The actress, who is 27 years old, raised concerns about her privacy being constantly invaded. She explained how extreme the situation had become, with some paparazzi even staying in kayaks outside her house.
The photos taken at that time raised other safety concerns, as her home was no longer secure. She stated, “When those photos go out, then my actual safety is at risk.”
For example, she recalled hearing people from boats shouting, ‘This is Sydney Sweeney’s house,’ making the area around her house a stop for those touring celebrity homes.
The Euphoria star expressed frustration over social media users accusing her of calling the paparazzi to her own home. She said, “Why would I call the paparazzi to take pictures of me at my own house when my baby cousins and family are there and I’m in my backyard? Why would I ever want that?”
Sweeney, known for her privacy, mentioned that she only has a few childhood friends and no industry connections.
Reflecting on her journey, Sydney Sweeney shared the challenges she faced to make it in Hollywood. She talked about being bullied at school, her parents going into debt for her auditions, and their subsequent divorce. She is passionate about empowering others to be confident in their bodies and even joked about her grandparents claiming she has the ‘best’ breasts in Hollywood.
