Diddy Charged With Sex Trafficking & Racketeering
Following Combs’ arrest based on a sealed indictment, the indictment was revealed on Sept. 17.
Court documents obtained by NBC News show that the 54-year-old has been charged with racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion, as well as transportation for engaging in prostitution.
The indictment alleges that Combs manipulated, threatened, and pressured women and others around him to fulfill his sexual desires, protect his reputation, and conceal his actions for over a decade, with the behavior reportedly starting in 2008.
“In order to do so,” the documents state, “Combs utilized the employees, resources, and influence of the diverse business empire that he led and controlled—establishing a criminal organization whose members and associates were involved in, or attempted to engage in, various crimes including sex trafficking, forced labor, kidnapping, arson, bribery, and obstruction of justice.”
NBC News reported that Combs pleaded not guilty and was denied bail.
“He will fight this vigorously and with determination,” said his lawyer Marc Agnifilo to reporters outside the courthouse before the arraignment, “and with the full support of his legal team.”
