Disney has just released an exciting trailer for Moana 2, hinting at a grand new adventure for the beloved princess. This time, Moana faces a challenge bigger than ever before as she sets off for an ancient island cursed by a powerful and vengeful god.
A voice from the cursed island declares, “A human can never break my curse,” but Moana remains undeterred with the help of the demigod Maui and her Island crew. The trailer shows Moana preparing her boat and returning to her home island to seek her sister’s help with a mysterious broken pot with an island carving.
The voiceover explains that breaking the curse of the ancient island could unite their people once more, but it requires setting foot on the cursed sand, a seemingly impossible task. Moana vows to break the curse and restore harmony to her people, facing a challenge greater than anything her ancestors encountered, with the fate of the entire ocean at stake.
The sequel introduces a grown-up version of Moana and her younger sister Simea, while still emphasizing themes of family, community, and solidarity. The trailer also promises funny banter between Moana and Maui, a highlight of the first film.
Directed by David G. Derrick Jr., Jason H., and Dana Ledoux Miller, Moana 2 brings back Dwayne Johnson as Maui and Auli’i Cravalho as Moana, with Rachel House, Temuera Morrison, and others completing the cast.
