Mithun, known for his outstanding performances in films like Agneepath and Mujhe Insaaf Chahiye, received high praise for his achievements. His longtime friend Dharmendra took to social media to congratulate him and express his happiness for Mithun.
Dharmendra shared a picture with Mithun Chakraborty and extended his congratulations on receiving the Dadasaheb Phalke Award. He conveyed his admiration and requested Mithun to pass his regards to the family. Dharmendra mentioned that despite being out of India, he promised to return and give Mithun a warm hug personally.
The heartfelt post read, “Dear MithUN, Congratulations for Dada Saheb Phalke, India’s most prestigious Award. Give my love to everyone at home. I am out of INDIA BUT I WILL DEFINITELY COME TO GIVE YOU A BIG HUG.”
Before the ceremony, Mithun expressed his gratitude and said, “What can I say? Such great honor—I can only thank God. The struggles I faced, God has returned everything to me. I’m still processing it.”
Sharing his experiences of facing discrimination due to his dark skin in the industry, Mithun Da mentioned how he used to complain to God about his appearance. Eventually, he decided to focus on his dancing abilities and became known as India’s original ‘Disco Dancer.’
Previous recipients of the Dadasaheb Phalke Award include legendary figures like Amitabh Bachchan, Waheeda Rehman, and Rajinikanth. Earlier this year, Mithun Chakraborty was also honored with the Padma Bhushan, India’s third-highest civilian award.
