Neha Sargam aka Saloni Bhabhi Reflects on Parental Reaction to Mirzapur 3 Role: “Beta, Do Good Work”
Mirzapur is currently one of the most popular series on OTT platforms. The show boasts a talented cast including Ali Fazal, Pankaj Tripathi, Shweta Tripathi, and Rasika Dugal in important roles. Other notable actors in the series are Divyenndu, Isha Talwar, Vikrant Massey, Vijay Varma, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, and more. Neha Sargam, who portrayed the character Saloni Bhabhi in the second and third seasons, recently shared how her parents reacted to her role in Mirzapur.
During a recent podcast episode, Digital Commentary, Neha Sargam reminisced about informing her parents about landing a role in Mirzapur. She mentioned that when she was offered a part in Season 2, she had already seen the first season. Neha shared how she broke the news to her parents about her involvement in the series.
Neha Sargam recalled meeting with co-director Gurmmeet Singh and co-creator Puneet Krishna before signing on for Mirzapur. She remembered their discussion about her role and how they assured her that her character arc would be significant in the third season.
“I told them, ‘Sir, I have a request. My parents have asked me to choose clean roles.’ And they laughed…” she added.
Reflecting on those moments, Neha Sargam mentioned that she agreed to play a clean role in Season 2 after the makers convinced her. She also mentioned that they kept details about the third season a mystery to her.
In the same interview, Neha Sargam shared her initial concerns about intimate scenes in Mirzapur Season 3. She recalled a meeting with director Gurmmeet at his office where she found out about the scenes. The actress revealed her initial shock and uncertainty about the role.
Neha Sargam’s character was paired with Vijay Varma in the second and third seasons of Mirzapur. Vijay portrayed twin brothers, Bharat Tyagi and Shatrughan Tyagi, while Neha played Bharat’s wife.
