Minnie Driver Admits Marrying Josh Brolin Would Have Been a Huge Mistake
Minnie Driver is discussing a past relationship with a boy.
The Academy Award nominee recently talked about her engagement to former Josh Brolin in the early 2000s and shared why she’s relieved they didn’t follow through with the wedding.
“The one time I was engaged,” she revealed in an interview with The Times published on July 6, “it would have been, I think, the biggest mistake of my life.”
Minnie and Josh began dating after working together on their 2000 movie Slow Burn. The Avengers star proposed to the actress from About a Boy the following year. However, shortly after, they decided to call off their engagement.
The 54-year-old also mentioned how her family situation, with her father having another family while in a long-term relationship with her mother, influenced her perspective on relationships.
“Looking back at my history, it made me desire marriage greatly and then choose partners who weren’t suitable for marriage,” Minnie explained. “I kept longing for a traditional relationship, attracting men who weren’t interested, and if one was, I would back away.”
