Miss Teen USA 2023 UmaSofia Srivastava has resigned just days after Miss USA gave up her title.

A new winner has been crowned.

Alma Cooper from Michigan is now the Miss USA 2024 after the 73rd annual competition in Burbank, Calif., on Aug 4.

At 22 years old, Alma is an Army officer and a graduate of the United States Military Academy. She made history as the first active duty military officer to become Miss Michigan, holding the rank of second lieutenant and military intelligence officer. Alma, a proud Afro-Latina woman, is currently pursuing a Masters degree in statistics at Stanford University.

In her Miss USA bio, Alma expressed her desire to raise awareness about food insecurity, stating that “Her ultimate goal is to make healthy foods accessible to all individuals.”

During the competition, the top contenders were Alma and Miss Kentucky, Connor Perry. Connor, a neuroscience graduate and professional dancer, was the first runner up. Other finalists included Miss Ohio, Macy Hudson, Miss Tennessee, Christell Foote, and Miss Oklahoma, Danika Christopherson.
