Michael Phelps Discusses Desire to Have a Baby Girl After Four Sons
Michael Phelps is happy with the size of his family swim team.
The 28-time Olympic medalist has a busy household with their four boys—Boomer, 8, Beckett, 6, Maverick, 4, and Nico, 5 months. They are not in a hurry to have baby number 5.
“Oh, I think that’s it,” Phelps told E! News at the premiere of the docuseries Fueled By on June 26. “Nicole would say the same. She wanted a girl for me, but we have Onyx.”
This refers to their Great Dane, Onyx, who they introduced on Instagram in March. Onyx is featured in the new docuseries, a collaboration with Purina Pro Plan that explores how nutrition impacts elite athletes’ lives with their dogs.
“Onyx is our girl, so we have everything we need,” Phelps added. “We have four boys and now an amazing girl.”
