Meryl Streep to voice the sequel to the award-winning documentary
The iconic actress from The Devil Wears Prada, who is also a passionate environmentalist, is confirmed to be the narrator for the conservation documentary Escape From Extinction Rewilding. This project, directed and produced by Matthew Brady through MRB Productions, will explore rewilding—an approach to conservation that focuses on restoring natural processes.
This method aims to enhance biodiversity, minimize human impact on the ecosystem, and promote environmental equilibrium. Dr. Robin Ganzert, president and CEO of American Humane and executive producer of the film, shared news of Streep’s involvement in an interview with Variety.
“This documentary, featuring the compelling narration of Meryl Streep, not only sheds light on the importance of rewilding but also emphasizes the idea that you must love what you seek to protect, and you must know what you aim to love,” he expressed to the publication.
Streep’s dedication to nature and wildlife preservation
Apart from her numerous accolades in the realm of acting— including three Oscars, 32 Golden Globe nominations, and eight wins—the actress is highly regarded for her commitment to wildlife conservation.
In addition to backing various campaigns in support of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, the talented actress has also aligned with organizations like the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC).
