Meryl Streep mistakenly addresses Kamala Harris with THIS title at Oprah Town Hall; Details
Kamala Harris participated in a virtual rally called Oprah Town Hall on September 19th, where she sat down with Oprah Winfrey. The event had 400 in-person attendees and over 200,000 others tuning in, including celebrities like Tracee Ellis Ross, Julia Roberts, Meryl Streep, Ben Stiller, and Chris Rock, who showed their support for the Harris-Walz ticket. Streep, in particular, greeted Harris with excitement, referring to her as “President Harris” before quickly correcting herself.
Rock also expressed his anticipation of seeing his daughters meet “this Black woman president” at the White House. He believes Harris will make a great president and emphasized the need to end hate and negativity in the country.
During her conversation with Oprah, Harris touched on various topics, including female reproductive rights and gun violence. She also addressed the family of Amber Nicole Thurman, a victim of the abortion ban in Georgia, who tragically lost her life due to lack of medical care. Harris offered her condolences to the family and highlighted Trump’s efforts to appoint Supreme Court justices with the intention of banning abortion nationwide.
Harris also spoke about her support for the Second Amendment, revealing that she is a gun owner herself. She jokingly mentioned that anyone breaking into her house would be shot, acknowledging that her staff might have to address her comments later.
When asked about Biden’s endorsement of her as the Democratic presidential candidate, Harris expressed a sense of responsibility and acknowledged the high stakes in the upcoming election. Despite polls suggesting a favorable outlook for the Harris-Walz ticket over Trump-Vance, the race for the presidency remains intense, with both candidates polling at 47%.
