Melrose Place Reboot in Development
Adam Brody on the Possibility of The O.C. REBOOT
Melrose Place is getting ready for a revival.
Heather Locklear, Laura Leighton, and Daphne Zuniga will be returning to their iconic roles from the ‘90s drama in a reboot with CBS Studios, a production source reveals to E! News.
Along with appearing on screen, both Leighton and Zuniga are also involved in producing the new series alongside Tiffany Grant, Jason Weinberg, and writer Lauren Gussis, who has previously worked on projects like Insatiable and Dexter.
Originally created by Darren Star, the original Melrose Place followed the lives and relationships of a group of young adults in Los Angeles. The show premiered in 1992 and enjoyed seven successful seasons before concluding in May 1999.
In the upcoming reboot, the group reunites following the passing of a dear friend.
However, the reunion leads to “old traumas resurfacing, past romances rekindling, previous resentments flaring up, and new secrets coming to light,” as described in the show’s logline, “resulting in chaotic drama reminiscent of the past but with a modern twist.”
