During her pregnancies, Meghan Markle condemns “cruel” bullying
Meghan Markle is highlighting a deeply troubling issue.
The Duchess of Sussex, who is the mother of son Archie Harrison (4) and daughter Lilibet “Lili” Diana (2) with her husband Prince Harry, spoke out about the extreme negativity she faced on social media during what should have been a special and private time for her as a mother.
Sharing her experience during a March 8 panel at the SXSW Conference in Austin, Texas, Meghan revealed that the majority of the bullying and abuse occurred when she was pregnant with Archie and Lili, and when they were newborns.
Now, Meghan, known for her role in Suits, avoids social media for her own well-being and has had time to reflect on the challenges she faced during that period of her life.
“Trying to understand why people could be so hateful,” Meghan stated, “is not just petty—it’s cruel. Why would someone behave that way, especially towards a pregnant woman or a new mother?”
