Today, let’s meet Chandan Roy, star of the show Panchayat, who used to be a journalist but decided to follow his passion for acting and moved to Mumbai.
Chandan Roy’s early life
Born on 20 December 1995, Chandan Roy hails from a village in Mahnar, Bihar. The 28-year-old actor has always been passionate about acting.
He moved to Patna for his higher studies and obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication from Patna University. He actively participated in college theatre and later pursued a Diploma in Radio and Television from the Indian Institute of Mass Communication in Delhi.
After working as a journalist for Dainik Jagran, Roy decided to follow his passion for acting and moved to Mumbai in 2017.
Chandan Roy is a Panchayat star
Initially, Chandan worked in Indian daily soaps before landing the breakthrough role of Vikas Shukla in Amazon Prime’s web series Panchayat (2020). The role earned him immense appreciation, and he continued to be a part of the series’ subsequent seasons.
He has also appeared in films like Jamun, State of Siege: Temple Attack, and others, along with web series like Shehar Lakhot.
