The Halloween Movie Starring Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen is Still Wild and Crazy
Thirty-one years ago, Mary-Kate Olsen and Ashley Olsen created Double, Double Toil and Trouble.
At the age of 7, the twins were already the youngest self-made millionaires. They started their careers at 8 months old, playing Michelle Tanner on Full House. Mary-Kate and Ashley went on to build their empire by establishing their own company Dualstar, which produced their straight-to-VHS movies, including Double, Double Toil and Trouble.
The TV movie debuted on ABC on October 30, 1993, and has become a somewhat forgotten Halloween film, except among the Olsen twins’ devoted fanbase. Though the film is filled with ’90s nostalgia and memorable moments, it also stars Eric McCormack, who admitted he has never actually watched the film.
“No, I never have,” said the Will & Grace actor in a 2021 interview with Entertainment Weekly. “It’s hard to go back and see…certain looks. And also, I was probably a year-and-a-half into television, so I was still trying to adapt my stage acting to the camera. Maybe I was terrified to go back and watch it.”
