Martha Stewart Alleges Ina Garten was “Unfriendly” During Prison Term
Recently, another shocking revelation about Ina’s past has surfaced, aside from her apparent disagreement with Martha. In a sneak peek from her upcoming memoir Be Ready When the Luck Happens, set to be published on Oct. 1, the renowned cookbook author disclosed that she came close to divorcing her husband, Jeffrey Garten, in their many years of marriage.
“When I acquired Barefoot Contessa, I completely disrupted our conventional roles – I smashed them to pieces with a baseball bat and left them scattered,” she recounted. “Even though I continued to cook, clean, shop, and run the business, I did it all as a businesswoman, not as a wife. My duties as a business owner consumed me to the point where I couldn’t focus on anything else. There was no set expectation of who should arrive home from work first and what their responsibilities would be, because I never really returned home from work!”
Ina further shared, “I pondered it deeply, and at my lowest moment, I contemplated whether divorce was the only solution. Despite my love for Jeffrey and my reluctance to surprise or hurt him, I thought about initiating a separation as a starting point.”
