Marlon Wayans Defends Jennifer Lopez Against Criticism of Changed Behavior: ‘She’s Always Stayed True’
Marlon Wayans has a different perspective on Jennifer Lopez’s post-fame compared to their In Living Color co-star, Tommy Davidson. He believes that fame has not changed the singer at all.
“From my experience, JLo blew up, and whenever I saw her, it was always love. Always,” Wayans expressed on the Club Shay Shay podcast episode on Thursday, September 5, titled “Jennifer Lopez Changed After In Living Color?
Contrary to Davidson’s claims of Lopez snubbing him after her rise to fame in December 2023, Wayans commended her for always being warm and friendly, stating, “[She’s] always been love. She’s never been like, ‘Oh, I’m above you now.’ She’s never been like that.”
Wayans even disclosed that Lopez assisted him in landing a role in Ben Affleck’s 2023 film Air, showcasing her ongoing support and kindness towards him.
Reflecting on their time on In Living Color, Wayans expressed his belief that Lopez would become a prominent figure in the industry. He hopes to collaborate with her again in the future.
Given Lopez’s current situation, with finalizing her divorce from Affleck, the support from her former co-star holds significance in her life.
Lopez filed for separation from Affleck in the Los Angeles Superior Court on August 20, requesting the judge to waive spousal support entitlements for both parties due to the absence of a prenuptial agreement.
