Maharaj: Junaid Khan’s debut film release delayed by a day; YRF provides movie screener to Gujarat HC on Aamir Khan’s son Junaid Khan
Aamir Khan’s son, Junaid Khan was set to debut in the film Maharaj. Originally set for release on June 14, the movie was delayed by the Gujarat High Court.
In a recent update, it has been reported that Yash Raj Films provided a link to the movie for the HC to watch as the release date was pushed back by a day.

According to the Press Trust of India (PTI), the stay on the release of Junaid Khan’s debut film Maharaj granted by Justice Sangeeta Vishen’s court will continue for another day, with another hearing scheduled for Thursday (June 20).
While the stay on the release continues, Yash Raj Films (YRF) has offered to provide links and passwords to the Gujarat High Court to watch the movie and determine if it offends the religious sentiments of a specific community, as alleged by the petitioners.
“(Watching the movie) will be in addition to the submissions made by the learned counsels for the respective parties,” Justice Vishen stated after YRF’s offer to provide the movie link.
On the other hand, YRF’s lawyer Shalin Mehta mentioned, “Let the arguments conclude. If the court deems it necessary, we will provide the link; otherwise, we will not.”

The film Maharaj features a cast including Shalini Pandey, Jaideep Ahlawat, and Sharvari Wagh alongside Junaid Khan. It is set in pre-independent India and revolves around the Maharaj Libel Case of 1862, triggered by allegations of misconduct by a prominent figure.
Junaid Khan plays the role of Karsandas Mulji, a journalist and advocate for women’s rights who studied at Elphinstone College in Mumbai and was mentored by Dadabhai Naoroji.
Directed by Siddharth P Malhotra and produced by Aditya Chopra under YRF Entertainment, Maharaj was originally set for release on June 14 before facing objections from the Vishwa Hindu Parishad.
