Created by toy company roboticist Gemma (played by Allison Williams), M3GAN can interact and learn from the child she is bonded to, becoming a friend, teacher, playmate, and protector. When Gemma unexpectedly becomes the guardian of her orphaned niece Cady, she turns to M3GAN for help in parenting.
