Shohei Ohtani of the Los Angeles Dodgers Announces Secret Marriage
Shohei Ohtani is now trading baseball diamonds for diamond rings.
The pitcher for the Los Angeles Dodgers recently announced that he tied the knot.
“Not only am I embarking on a new chapter in my career with the Dodgers, but I am also starting a new life with someone very special from my home country of Japan,” the 29-year-old shared in a Feb. 29 Instagram post. “I wanted to let everyone know that I am now married.”
“I am looking forward to what lies ahead,” Shohei added. “Thank you for your support.”
In the post, accompanied by a photo of his dog Decoy, he also revealed their plans for the future together.
“We are still young and there is much we have yet to learn, but we hope you will cheer us on,” he wrote in Japanese, as translated by CNN. “We hope that both of us (and our dog) will support each other and move forward together with our fans.”
