Lizzo Stuns in Timeless Garden Theme at 2024 Met Gala
It’s bad bitch o’clock at the 2024 Met Gala.
Lizzo made a bold statement at the May 6 charity event held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. The “Truth Hurts” singer donned a striking red and beige gown with a unique floating hemline and a gravity-defying headpiece to match the “Garden of Time” theme. This marks Lizzo’s third appearance at the Met Gala, having previously showcased a pink feathered Marc Jacobs outfit in 2019, a gold and black ensemble with a flute motif in 2022, and a dark gown adorned with pearls last year.
A lot has changed for the 36-year-old since then. Lizzo faced a lawsuit from her former dancers last year, accusing her of weight-shaming and sexual harassment, claims she vehemently denies. She has been the target of online backlash, leading her to announce on Instagram last month that she was “quitting” due to false narratives being spread about her for attention and views. She expressed feeling like a constant target for ridicule based on her appearance and character being unfairly criticized by strangers.
