Lizzo addresses the claims surrounding her weight loss and Ozempic
Ozempic is no joking matter for the comedian. Handler shared that her “anti-aging doctor” prescribed the medication without her knowing what it was.
“I didn’t even realize I was taking it,” she mentioned during the episode of Call Her Daddy on Jan. 25, 2023. “She told me, ‘If you ever want to lose five pounds, this is good for you.’
Although she gave the drug a try, Handler admitted that she didn’t enjoy how it made her feel.
“After a vacation, I injected myself with it,” she remembered. “A few days later, I went to lunch with a friend who mentioned she was feeling nauseous because she was on Ozempic. I realized I was feeling the same way, but I attributed it to jet lag after returning from Spain”
Eventually, Handler decided to stop using the medication since it was not medically necessary for her. She gave away the unused doses to her friends.
“I ended up injecting four or five of my friends with Ozempic since I didn’t see the need for it, it was frivolous,” she said. “It’s intended for people with more significant weight issues. I had friends coming over, and I’d schedule meetings with them.”
