Clay and AD seemed to be doing well as a couple, with AD reassuring Clay that they would overcome any obstacles. However, when it came time to say “I do” at the altar, Clay shocked everyone by saying “I don’t”, explaining that he wasn’t ready for marriage.
He promised to work on himself and their relationship, but ultimately felt it wouldn’t be responsible to move forward without being fully prepared. AD was devastated by this revelation, feeling that their relationship had been a waste of time.
Clay admitted that his lack of readiness for marriage, both emotionally and financially, led him to walk away. He acknowledged that he wasn’t ready to be a husband or deeply in love.
During the reunion, Clay expressed regret and a desire to date AD again, but AD was noncommittal about the possibility of reconciling. She shared that she had gone on a few dates with Matthew Duliba, but they are not currently together.
