“I am absolutely devastated about the passing of my amazing friend, Liam,” Niall expressed in a heartfelt Instagram post. “It still hasn’t sunk in. Liam had a zest for life and a dedication to his craft that was truly inspiring. He was the life of the party and always made everyone feel joyful and safe.”
The singer of “Slow Hands” reflected on his time performing alongside Liam in One Direction.
“The memories of all the laughter we shared over the years, even about the simplest things, flood my thoughts in this time of sorrow,” Niall continued. “We lived out our dreams together and I will hold onto those moments forever. Our bond and friendship were rare and special.”
Niall, who recently had Liam and his girlfriend Kate Cassidy as special guests at his concert in Buenos Aires, also recounted his last encounter with his friend.
“I am grateful that I saw him not long ago,” Niall recalled. “Little did I know that our goodbye that night would be our final one. It’s truly heart-wrenching. My deepest sympathy and love go out to Geoff, Karen, Ruth, Nicola, and Liam’s son Bear. Thank you for everything, Payno. Love you, brother.”
