Lena Dunham Discovers She’s Actually Related to Larry David
Lena Dunham could be considered the representative of her generation—or a generation, but this revelation left her speechless.
It turns out that the Girls mastermind discovered she is actually distantly related to Curb Your Enthusiasm creator Larry David.
“No! My husband is going to be so shocked,” Lena—who is married to musician Luis Felber—exclaimed during the April 2 episode of PBS’s Finding Your Roots. “This is the most exciting news I could have received.”
The host of the ancestry show, Henry Louis Gates Jr., revealed that the 37-year-old shares at least one common ancestor with the 76-year-old on her mother’s side, based on their “multiple long identical segments of DNA.”
“I couldn’t have been happier with this discovery,” Lena expressed enthusiastically. “It’s unbelievable. You saved the best for last.”
Fans of these television creators may not be surprised by their distant connection. After all, Lena has received multiple Golden Globe nominations—and one victory—as well as eight Emmy nominations for her contributions in writing, directing, and acting in Girls.
