Laapataa Ladies Nitanshi Goel admits surprise over team sharing Phool’s MET Gala 2024 photo online: Expects it to be next big meme

In a conversation with News 18, Nitanshi Goel talked about the viral moment on social media when Phool appeared at the MET Gala 2024. The actress described the moment as a surprise and shared that she woke up one morning, saw the picture, and wondered how she ended up there and if it was real. She was unaware that the team had planned this. “They wanted to surprise me, and it just went viral. I thought it would become the next meme of the year!”
Nitanshi also mentioned that many people believed she actually attended the event and messaged her about it. Before her picture went viral, Alia Bhatt had impressed everyone at the event the day before. Nitanshi hopes to attend the event one day. “And then the next day I saw this picture. I told myself, maybe my manifestation is working halfway (laughs),” she said.
Reacting to her film’s song Sajni Re becoming popular and being featured in many social media reels, Nitanshi considers herself lucky. She calls herself the ‘OG Sajni’. “I can’t stop bragging about it! People are making Kalakand recipes hoping that Phool loves it as much as she does in the film, with Sajni Re playing in the background!”
Nitanshi Goel’s Class 11 exams
In an interview, Nitanshi Goel shared that she missed her Class 11 exams due to shooting for Laapataa Ladies. However, when she later took the exams, her teachers warmly welcomed her. A teacher even praised her work in the film. “The invigilator said, ‘Let her finish her exam, then we can all talk to her, take selfies with her, and praise her.’ They all supported me.”
Nitanshi felt surreal when her teachers were proud of her after watching the movie. She is currently in 12th grade, studying commerce, and will be taking her board exams in 2025.
