Kusha Kapila opens up about her mother’s struggles after divorce from Zorawar Singh Ahluwalia
Kusha Kapila and her ex-husband Zorawar Singh Ahluwalia have ended their marriage. Recently, during a roast show, some hurtful comments were made about their separation, which Kusha found unacceptable. The actress from ‘Life Hill Gayi’ has now shared that although she chose to keep the details of her divorce private, her mother had to face the consequences.
Speaking with Fever FM, Kusha highlighted the societal harshness towards women and how she had previously closed herself off to deal with it. She mentioned that her mother faced even more scrutiny due to her conventional lifestyle.
During the interview, Kusha expressed, “Society is unkind to women anyway, so I think my mother had to endure that. I completely shut myself off from opinions because I didn’t have the capacity for it. I’m sure my mother can speak about it clearly.”
Kapila shared that her mother had to engage with relatives and navigate societal opinions while living her own life, like going to the temple or park and participating in social activities. She added, “She had to deal with relatives and society. She has her own life… she goes to the temple or the park, she has her own social circles where she had to face opinions, and that’s how the world works.”
She acknowledged that this is the reality of their times, and despite progress, some things remain unchanged. Kusha pointed out that when one opens up their life to the public, they can’t control the responses they receive online.
While one can adjust how they share their life in the future, the repercussions of sharing personal details are inevitable. She emphasized that it’s unfair and unkind for people to make assumptions and speak on behalf of others, leaving them unsure of what to clarify or explain.
