Netherlands Monarch Lightens Mood with Jokes About Kate Middleton Photo Controversy
Some royal tea is being spilled.
King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands has made a humorous comment regarding the ongoing scandal with Kate Middleton‘s Photoshop mistake. This took place during a March 14 event in Zutphen.
In a video posted on X, formerly Twitter, Willem-Alexander responded to a young girl who mentioned owning a photo of him and his family, jokingly saying, “At least I didn’t photoshop it.”
The remark received laughs from the adult audience and points at the recent Photoshop controversy surrounding the British royal family. The controversy started when the Princess of Wales posted a picture of herself with Prince William‘s children – Prince George (10), Princess Charlotte (8), and Prince Louis (5) – on social media for U.K. Mother’s Day.
However, the image was later removed from major news outlets, including the Associated Press, due to suspected alterations. Following this, Kate acknowledged her involvement in the photo editing process.
