Emotional response from King Charles III as he receives overwhelming support during cancer battle
King Charles III is openly expressing his emotions.
During a meeting on Feb. 21 with U.K. Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, Charles talked about the overwhelming support he has received from the public since his cancer diagnosis. He mentioned that the messages and cards he has received have brought him to tears most of the time, as seen in a video shared by Sky News.
Sunak reassured the king that the country is fully behind him, and they discussed how Charles’ public announcement of his diagnosis has brought attention to cancer-related organizations.
Charles also mentioned that the increased interest in cancer charities is beneficial, as he has been a patron of many of them for years.
Despite the serious topic, there was a moment of humor as Sunak complimented Charles on looking well, to which the king jokingly responded, “it’s all done with mirrors.”
