Kevin Feige Commemorates Box Office Triumph of Deadpool & Wolverine, Latest Installment in Franchise
Kevin Feige, the visionary behind the Marvel Cinematic Universe, is celebrating the success of Marvel’s latest hit movie, Deadpool & Wolverine. The film, starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, has exceeded expectations and has become Marvel’s highest-grossing R-rated film of all time!
The official Twitter account of Marvel Studios shared a note signed by Feige, congratulating the team on the film’s historic success. “It’s amazing to see audiences enjoying this movie as much as we enjoyed making it. All those conversations were worth it,” read the producer’s note.
Reynolds, who starred in and co-produced the film, also celebrated the success with a humorous post on Twitter. “Now imagine if Hugh had done full frontal. With the cowl on of course,” the actor joked.
The R-rated box office champion is now in its fourth weekend and has grossed an impressive $1.04 billion globally, surpassing the previous record holder, Warner Bros.’s Joker. Deadpool & Wolverine is now among the top-grossing MCU films at the domestic box office.
Director Shawn Levy and Reynolds had creative freedom during the production of the film, with Feige offering no pushback on their script. Marvel executive producer Wendy Jacobson noted that when making a Deadpool movie, “nothing is off-limits.”
Jacobson also shared that the team approached the film with a commitment to authenticity, ensuring that the output stayed true to the Deadpool franchise. Feige also praised the movie, calling it the most “wholesome” R-rated film ever.
