Katy Perry’s Top Mishap Leads to Unexpectedly Funny Moment on Live TV
Katy Perry wasn’t exactly having the best time after her American Idol wardrobe malfunction.
However, the “California Gurls” singer handled her wardrobe malfunction like a professional and can now look back and laugh at the live TV moment.
“It seems like every season something falls off, breaks, tears and the audience loves it,” Katy told E! News after the April 15 show. “So give the people what they want.”
She joked that her time on the show is ending with a bang just like a firework.
“I have nothing to lose,” the 13-time Grammy nominee, who is leaving the singing competition series after being a judge for seven seasons, continued, “besides my top.” (To hear more from her interview, watch E! News on April 16 at 11 p.m.)
If you missed the fashion emergency, Katy managed to prevent her top from slipping off just after contestant Roman Collins performed James Brown‘s hit “It’s a Man’s Man’s Man’s World.”
“That song broke my top off,” the 39-year-old remarked. “I guess it truly is a woman’s world.”
