Katy Perry showcases new QR code back tattoo at red carpet event
When it comes to award show fashion, Katy Perry is simply unforgettable.
Katy Perry was seen at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards at UBS Arena in New York City wearing a stunning white Who Decides War two-piece outfit. She accessorized with a lower back tattoo of a QR code, which is believed to link to her new album, 143. (Check out all the celebrity looks on the red carpet here.)
The 39-year-old star, accompanied by her fiancé Orlando Bloom, is set to receive the prestigious Video Vanguard Award at the event. Katy is also scheduled to perform a medley of her greatest hits. The five-time VMA winner has had chart-topping singles like “California Gurls,” “Teenage Dream,” “Firework,” “Roar,” and “I Kissed a Girl.”
In addition to her music career, Katy has been a judge on American Idol for seven seasons, concluding in May this year. She will make an appearance at the VMAs just before the release of 143 on September 20. She has released two singles from the album in recent months, titled “Woman’s World” and “Lifelines.”
This VMAs appearance is Katy’s first since 2017 when she hosted the show and performed “Swish Swish” with Nicki Minaj.
