Kate Middleton Issues Rare Statement Regarding Cancer Diagnosis
Kate Middleton is giving a shoutout to a new colleague.
Although the Princess of Wales has been mostly out of the public eye since revealing earlier this year that she was undergoing cancer treatment, she took to social media to express her heartfelt congratulations to the United Kingdom’s new chief scout Dwayne Fields.
“Delighted to welcome @dwaynefields as the new UK Chief Scout,” Kate’s post on her and husband Prince William‘s Instagram Stories on Sept. 6 read. “The Scouts is such an incredible organization, teaching #SkillsForLife and making a huge difference to young people across the country.”
She also mentioned, “Looking forward to working with you! C.”
Dwayne, a TV presenter and explorer who became the first Black Briton to reach the North Pole in 2010, took over as the UK’s Chief Scout on Sept. 5, succeeding Bear Grylls.
“I was first introduced to Scouts at the age of 7,” Dwayne shared in a video posted on his and the organization’s Instagram. “I’ve been fortunate enough to lead young people on expeditions all around the world, but the heart of Scouting is right here in the Scout groups and headquarters across this country.”
