Kartik Aaryan addresses rumors of rift with Karan Johar regarding Dostana 2: ‘I have nothing to prove’
Kartik Aaryan created buzz in 2021 with his involvement in Dostana 2 produced by Karan Johar’s company. However, Dharma Productions later announced on social media that they would be recasting the movie ‘due to professional circumstances’.
Reports suggested that due to creative differences, Kartik decided to step away from the project, causing a rift between him and Karan Johar. The actor has now finally addressed this issue.

Currently busy promoting his upcoming film Chandu Champion, Kartik Aaryan opened up about his rumored disagreement with Karan Johar while speaking to The Lallantop about the movie directed by Kabir Khan.
He mentioned that the issue is old now but emphasized that misunderstandings often lead to things being blown out of proportion, especially in written form. He also revealed that he has not addressed the matter since it occurred a couple of years ago.
In Hindi, the Shehzada actor stated, “I was silent back then, and I remain silent on those matters today. I focus entirely on my work, and when such news or controversies arise, I stay composed. I don’t get heavily involved in those things as I have nothing to prove.”
Kartik also commented on the discussions surrounding his social media activity following his exit from Dostana 2. He mentioned that he doesn’t rely on a spokesperson or family to portray his positive side to the media and believes that directors and producers continue to cast him in their projects because he must be doing something right.
