Kandi Burruss Shares How Using Ozempic Made Her Feel “Depressed”
Ozempic is no laughing matter for the comedian. Handler disclosed that her “anti-aging doctor” prescribed the medication without her knowledge of what the drug was.
“I didn’t even know I was on it,” she admitted during the Jan. 25, 2023 episode of Call Her Daddy. “She said, ‘If you ever want to drop five pounds, this is good.’
Despite giving the drug a try, Handler mentioned that she didn’t enjoy how it made her feel.
“I returned from a vacation and administered it to myself,” she recounted. “A few days later, I went to lunch with a friend who mentioned feeling nauseous because she was on Ozempic. I realized I was feeling the same way, but I attributed it to jet lag from my trip to Spain.”
In the end, Handler decided to discontinue the use of the drug as it wasn’t medically necessary for her. She even gave away the remaining doses to her friends.
“I’ve injected about four or five of my friends with Ozempic, because I realized I didn’t want to use it because it was silly,” she shared. “It’s for heavy people. I have people coming over to my house, and I’m like, ‘OK, I can see you at 1, I can see you at 2.’
