Kalki 2898 AD Update: Dulquer Salmaan and Mrunal Thakur Cast as Prabhas’ Parents in Sci-Fi Film
As the release date for Prabhas starrer Kalki 2898 AD approaches, the excitement surrounding the film is at an all-time high. Just yesterday (June 21st), the movie’s makers unveiled the release trailer, which has received praise from movie enthusiasts everywhere.
One of the main draws of this mythological science fiction film is the star-studded cast, including Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, and others alongside Prabhas. According to a report from the Times of India, Mahanati actor and Mrunal Thakur will play the roles of Prabhas’ character Bhairava’s parents.
Dulquer Salmaan and Mrunal Thakur in Kalki 2898 AD?
TOI reports that Dulquer Salmaan and Mrunal Thakur will play Prabhas’ parents in cameo roles. This would mark their second collaboration after the 2022 film Sita Ramam.
Rumors suggest Vijay Deverakonda as Arjuna, Nani as Krishna, and SS Rajamouli in the roles of either Vishwamitra or Ved Vyasa. However, these are just speculations with no official confirmation.

Kalki 2898 AD is directed by Nag Ashwin and features a star-studded cast including Kamal Haasan, Disha Patani, and others in key roles. Keerthi Suresh voices Bujji, Prabhas’ character Bhairava’s vehicle.
In an interview, Nag Ashwin shared that Kalki spans 6000 years from 3102 BC to 2898 AD, with C. Aswani Dutt producing under Vyjayanthi Movies. Santhosh Narayanan provides the music, Djordje Stojiljkovic handles cinematography, and Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao oversees editing.
