Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Kabir Singh faced criticism for its portrayal of misogyny and toxic masculinity, but it ultimately had a positive impact on the careers of Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani. Actress Nikita Dutta, who was also part of the film, recently shared her experience of facing challenges after its success.
Nikita Dutta opens up about her post-Kabir Singh journey
In a recent interview with Hindustan Times, Nikita Dutta revealed that she did not focus much on public relations after Kabir Singh was released.
“There is a lot of PR involved in promoting oneself, and maybe I didn’t pay enough attention to that after Kabir Singh,” Nikita said.
“I’m not saying I didn’t get what I deserved; everyone did their best, maybe I just didn’t utilize the opportunities to the fullest at that time,” she added.

In the same interview, Nikita Dutta was asked if she experienced a career boost like Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani did after the success of Kabir Singh.
Nikita confirmed this, revealing that she had five film projects lined up post-Kabir Singh, but unfortunately, due to the lockdown, things took a different turn.
She shared that two films were shelved, two moved to OTT platforms, and one had its release postponed by three years.

In a 2019 interview with Pinkvilla, Nikita Dutta discussed how Kabir Singh helped her gain recognition in the industry.
She mentioned that the film played a significant role in her career and that she stood out in the second half of the film, which was like a ray of light in the darkness.
Since Kabir Singh, Nikita has been part of projects like The Big Bull, Gold, Dybbuk, Maska, and Lust Stories, and she has Saif Ali Khan’s Jewel Thief and a Marathi film, Gharat Ganpati, in her upcoming lineup.
