Justin Timberlake declined to take a breathalyzer test and told the officer who arrested him that he had only consumed one drink before being booked on DWI charges.
Timberlake, 43, was arrested in Sag Harbor, New York, in the early hours of Tuesday, June 18, after visiting the American Hotel with some friends, a source informed People.

“On June 18, 2024, at 12:37 AM, Justin R. Timberlake, age 43, of Tennessee, was observed driving a 2025 BMW southbound on Madison Street, failing to stop at a posted stop sign and failing to stay in his lane,” according to a statement from the Sag Harbor PD mentioned in his arrest report.
The report also mentioned that a police officer from the Sag Harbor Village Police Department initiated a traffic stop, and after an investigation, it was determined that the singer of Cry Me a River was driving while intoxicated.
In his arrest report accessed by People, it was stated that Timberlake’s “eyes were bloodshot and glassy,” and he had a “strong odor of an alcoholic beverage” on his breath. The arresting officer also noted that Timberlake had slow speech, unsteady movements, and performed poorly on field sobriety tests.
The statement mentioned that Mr. Timberlake was arrested overnight for a morning arraignment. He was released on June 18 at 9:30 AM after his recognizance at the Sag Harbor Village Court. During his arraignment, Timberlake was accompanied by attorney Ed Burke Jr. and was handcuffed “with his hands in front of him,” as per People.
Reportedly, while in custody, Timberlake, who is scheduled to appear in court for a hearing on July 26, refused to perform a chemical test three times.

In pictures shared online, the Friends with Benefits star, wearing a black baseball cap and sunglasses with a gray vintage T-shirt under a black jacket and blue jeans, appeared guilty and distressed. A source told Page Six that Timberlake was concerned about the impact of his actions on his Forget Tomorrow world tour, which promotes his latest album, Everything I Thought It Was.
Justin last performed in Miami on June 15. His next performances are scheduled in Chicago on June 21 and 22.
Timberlake has openly discussed his struggles with excessive drinking in the past. In an interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2014, he admitted to drinking a whole bottle of whiskey at one point and confessed to using drugs in an interview with Today in 2006.
