Josh Hartnett Opens Up about Stalking Incidents that Led Him to Exit Hollywood
Josh Hartnett is reflecting on a challenging period in his career.
Despite rising to fame with movies like The Virgin Suicides and Pearl Harbor in the late ‘90s and early 2000s, Josh decided to step back from the limelight at the peak of his success.
While he has previously mentioned that the excessive focus on his personal life played a role in his decision to take a break, the Trap actor now reveals that there was another factor influencing him.
“The level of attention on me at that time,” Josh shared with The Guardian in an interview published on July 28, “was almost unhealthy.”
While he doesn’t want to dwell on this period too much, Josh acknowledges that his encounters with stalkers had become overwhelming.
“There were incidents,” he revealed. “Individuals showed up at my residence. People were stalking me. One person even appeared at a movie premiere claiming to be my father and brandishing a gun. He was later arrested.”
