Jon Bon Jovi Grieves the Passing of His Mother Carol Bongiovi at Age 83
Jon Bon Jovi is grieving a heartbreaking loss.
His mother, Carol Bongiovi, who was an entrepreneur and the founder of her son’s fan club for his rock band in the 80s, passed away on July 9, as confirmed by the musician in a statement to People. She was 83.
“Our mother was a strong presence in our lives,” the 62-year-old said on behalf of his family, “her determination and positive attitude shaped our family. She will be deeply missed.”
Carol passed away at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch, N.J., just three days before her 84th birthday, according to reports. The cause of her death has not been disclosed.
The Pennsylvania native, who had sons Anthony and Matthew with her husband of 64 years, John Bongiovi, Sr., was a businesswoman and a former member of the U.S. Marines, where she met her future husband.
Jon Bon Jovi had previously credited his parents as the driving force behind his career, stating that they played a significant role in shaping him as a “man and a father.”
