Jon Bon Jovi Fans Demand Refunds Over Autopen-Signed CDs, Express Outrage
Jon Bon Jovi, a Grammy Award winner aged 62, faced backlash from US fans on social media after the release of their 16th studio album Forever this month. Many fans claim to have received CDs with autopen signatures instead of genuine ones.
One comment on social media said, “Looks like @BonJovi is selling autopen-signed CDs…Dear @UMG, lying about your products is costly. How many refunds will you issue? Lying to fans isn’t right. NOBODY WANTS AUTOPENNED.”
Another disappointed fan mentioned, “It doesn’t matter if it wasn’t pricey, it’s about the principle. Disappointing :(“
Complaints arise over the placement of autographs on Jon Bon Jovi CDs
Some fans criticized the autograph placement, noting it was on an insert rather than the CD booklet or in a dark area of the photo, making it hard to see. However, others defended Bon Jovi, sharing photos of him signing autographs at events.
The fans wrote a statement hoping that Jon was not aware of fake autographs being sent to boost sales and requested genuine signatures as expected. Another fan expressed gratitude for receiving a Jon Bon Jovi autograph at the same price as an unsigned CD.

PSA confirms autopen signatures on some items
Kevin Keating, a lead authenticator at PSA, clarified that some autographs were done by autopen, showing machine-like tremors and clear starts and stops, which PSA would classify as not authentic. Forever is Bon Jovi’s first album since vocal cord surgery led to the cancellation of their 2022 tour.
The artist is on the path to recovery and contemplating returning to touring. In a recent vocal therapy session, he confidently sang Livin’ on a Prayer perfectly, claiming he can hit high notes. However, he will only return to the road once fully recovered, aiming to perform at his best. The Bon Jovi Story is now streaming on Hulu, and Forever is available for streaming and download.
