Top Clapbacks from JoJo Siwa That Deserve the Spotlight
In 2022, JoJo recounted an encounter with Candace Cameron Bure, whom she considered the “rudest” celebrity she had ever met. This was after Candace turned down 11-year-old JoJo’s request for a photo. The former Full House star later apologized, and they reconciled. Or so it seemed to fans at the time.
However, things took a turn later that year when JoJo, who came out as a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community in 2021, called out Candace for comments she made in an interview with The Wall Street Journal. Candace had mentioned that at Great American Family, the network where she serves as Chief Creative Officer, “traditional marriage” would remain central.
Expressing her disappointment on Instagram, JoJo stated, “I can’t believe that after what happened just a few months ago, Candace would not only be part of a project that excludes LGBTQIA+ individuals, but also discuss it publicly. This is disrespectful and painful for an entire community.”
In response, Candace clarified her remarks from the interview, emphasizing her “love and affection for all people.” She added, “I had also mentioned in the interview, though it was not included, that individuals of various backgrounds and identities play important roles at the network, both in front of and behind the camera, and I am a strong supporter of that.”
