Johnny Depp Confronts Media Attention Surrounding Amber Heard’s Legal Dispute
Johnny Depp is addressing the “soap opera” media frenzy surrounding his and Amber Heard’s legal battle.

While promoting his latest directorial project, Modi – Three Days on the Wings of Madness, at the San Sebastian International Film Festival in Spain, the Pirates of the Caribbean star talked about how he connected with the film’s subject, Amedeo Modigliani, sharing that they both experienced struggles in their lives—including Johnny’s well-publicized split from ex Amber Heard.
“Everyone has their own story,” Johnny said during a press conference on Sept. 24, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter. “Yes, I’ve been through some things. But, you know, I’ll be fine.”
Although the 61-year-old—who has children Lily-Rose, 25, and Jack, 22, with ex Vanessa Paradis—acknowledges that others have also faced challenges, he humorously remarked, “Maybe yours didn’t turn into a televised soap opera,” alluding to his and Amber’s 2022 defamation trial, which was broadcast live each day.
