Stars of John Tucker Must Die Confirm Sequel Is in the Making
According to E! News, Metcalfe revealed that the memorable scene in which Kate convinces John to wear thong underwear and mistakenly sends him to the wrong hotel room during an away-game trip was not originally included in the script.
“Actually, Betty Thomas gently introduced the thong idea to me,” he shared, chuckling. “She said, ‘Jesse, I want you to wear a thong in the movie.’ And I initially refused, thinking it was not something I wanted to do.”
However, after some convincing over a three-day period, Metcalfe admitted, “It’s a comedy, you have to push boundaries to get the laugh. So I went along with it. No regrets.”
He confidently added, “I believe I pulled it off.”
Brittany Snow confirmed in an interview with Us Weekly, “That was actually him. Jesse and I would hit the gym every morning and evening before filming that scene. It was just Jesse and me, amazed at the situation. He put in a lot of effort!”
